Musical Director
Jonathan Milne became the
Musical Director of Da Capo Concert
Band in September, 2008. Born in Windsor, he
began
playing the flute at the age of ten. His interest in military music was
initially sparked by his first flute teacher, Blues and Royals
Principal Flautist, Con Andrews. In October, 1989, he followed
his mentor and enlisted into the
Band of The Blues and Royals as a flautist. During his time with
the band, he completed the six month equitation course and took part in
all major ceremonial events, including The Queen’s Birthday Parade,
Investitures at Buckingham Palace, State Visits, The Royal Tournament,
and both VE and VJ day celebrations. January,
2006, saw Jonathan become the Bandmaster to The Band of the Corps of
Royal Engineers. During his two years with the Band, he performed
nationally and internationally, including the inaugural FA Cup Final in
the new Wembley Stadium, Berlin, Vienna, Gibraltar and Abu Dhabi.
